Mineral and groundwater resources are indispensable natural resources for the economic development of the nation and for national life. Therefore, the nations of the world are devoting themselves to the development of technology as well as to new policies and strategies for stable security and the preservation of mineral and water resources. This department aims at the investigation, exploration, and estimation of, and research into, the genesis mechanism, targeted on domestic and overseas minerals and groundwater resources to meet the needs of the nation. Especially, this department was established to create a high-quality manpower program that can lead to the training of domestic/overseas mineral and water resources industry experts, This course has the support of national policy and is aimed at the development of exploration technology and academic research. The major subjects of this department are mineralogy, economic geology, geochemical exploration, geophysical exploration, hydrogeology, environmental geohydrology, hydrogeochemistry, etc.
