Introduce

Big science is a research field that requires a huge budget and extensive man power. Three major fields of big science are accelerators, fusion reactors and lasers. Accelerator and fusion reactors (or plasma) are similar devices from the viewpoint of accelerating charged particles. both of them share core technologies. Four research institutes (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, National Fusion Research Institute, Institute for Basic Science) are united in providing both theoretical and experimental studies in the field of accelerators, nuclear fusion, particle beams, lasers and plasma.
